Grey and Cream- Soothing, Airy, and Classic

There is just something so sophisticated about combination of grey and cream together.  Not only do they evoke a feeling of tranquility - we feel that they are timeless and classic.

 1.

This photo is from last months Traditional Home.  We just loved this living room  -not to mention the custom grey/cream colored Nomi fabric used for the draperies.  Subtle yet sophisticated!  I feel that after a long hard day with the kiddos or work - you could walk into this room and immediately feel calm.

 2.

This home, featured Feb. 2009 in Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles, also has that same calming and sophisticated feeling as the room above.  Could you ever grow tired of this space?  What's not to love!
Again, this designer used a fabric designed by Nomi on those killer chairs and ottoman- Nomi is just the perfect fabric designer for those pieces.

3.

Peter Fasano fabric Maile has he perfect combo of grey and cream!

4.

We love the design by Stark rugs called Berrow!  Again, this color combo is sleek yet comfortable at the same time

We love how Phoebe Howard used the grey/cream color combo in this bedroom.

7.

We love Gray Cashmere by Benjamin Moore!

The grey marble is amazing!

Refreshing Home

Here is a refreshing home that has recently been listed for sale in Houston. We love the light, airy interiors. The ivory walls, the graceful arches, the neutral color scheme; it's so sophisticated and serene.  Notice the beamed ceilings in the kitchen-family room, the bleached oak paneling in the study, and be sure to notice the reading nook in the boys room!

Hope your week is off to a great start...

JA Design Studio: Plumwich Collection

Meg and I have been admirers of JA Design Studio's products ever since we saw this article in the May issue of Traditional Home back in 2008.

(1)
To read this article, go here

"The Swedish designer, Janet A. Fernandez, is the artist behind J.A. Design Studio. Born in Landskrona, Sweden, Janet moved to Rome, where she lived for over 20 years. In Italy, she studied design and started her career as an interior designer.  Much of the inspiration for her work comes from her Swedish heritage and Italian background."

No wonder we like her products!

JA Design Studio's hand painted fabrics, pillows, bedding, and table cloths are exquisite. And their designs are so delicate and unique. Here are a few examples of their gorgeous products.

These hand painted patterns can be applied to a variety of backgrounds including linen, silk, cotton, and velvet. And their bedding is made of either 100% silk taffeta and 100% Egyptian cotton 600 thread count. We love the fact that everything is customizable in their bedding and pillow lines, i.e. they can print any pattern/color combo that you see online!
The same is true with their table cloths. If you see a table cloth print that you would love to have as draperies, for example, this company can produce it!  First you select which ground you want (linen, cotton, velvet, or silk), next you pick your pattern.

Most recently, JA Design Studio has introduced a "to the trade only" fabric by the yard line, Plumwich, as seen on page 30 in this month's Traditional Home.

All Plumwich fabrics are printed on 100% Belgium linen, are hand-screened, and can be custom-colored for an additional matching fee.  Here are some examples of their new line:

To see the entire Plumwich collection be sure to go here.

JA Design Studio is truly an amazing company. Go to JaDesignStudio.net for more information on all of their products.

This would be the perfect bedside table - especially for those of us who like the hide the clutter in drawers

I want these zinc topped cubes as my coffee table - they are so functional yet chic at the same time!

This white leather ottoman would be fab in a study between four chairs- snuggle up and read a good book while propping up your feet!

Another great option for a bedside table!

UMMM- love this mercury Greek key mirrored entertain center- place your flat screen above it and hide all the components below!  I want this SO BADLY!!!

This would be great in an entry way with fresh flowers and books!  Love the design for the base!

 Another great entry table option.

Here are those pair of benches for the foot of your bed you have been looking for - and to top it off they are already upholstered in Cowtan & Touts Ocelot pattern!  MAJOR!!
